This weekend sees the main man of the season arrive in Wexford…. All of the little boys and girls are in for a treat as there are a variety of festive events on offer right across the county.
In Wexford town, the Wexford Winterland Festival returns and opening the festival is the Wexford Winterland Parade and the Turning on of the Christmas Lights which will take place in Wexford town centre this Saturday 26th November at 4:30pm.
Bring your little ones along to see Santa and his merry elves as he travels on his spectacular sleigh through the streets of Wexford! But watch out for Jack Frost and his icy cronies, as he will race to turn on the Christmas lights before Santa. Who will win? Well you will just have to be there to find out! The Parade will travel from Selskar Square along the Main Street, past the Bullring and North Main Street. It will turn down Anne Street and cross over onto the Quay and finish at the Wexford on Ice Rink for the turning on of the Christmas lights. The Parade starts at 4:30pm and the turning on of the lights is at 5pm on the Quay.
In Enniscorthy, take your little ones to Enniscorthy, Co Wexford this Christmas season and treat them to the ultimate magical adventure at Santa’s Enchanted Castle. Santa and Mrs Claus along with his band of merry little Elves have been busy again this year transforming Enniscorthy Castle into a wondrous Enchanted Castle.
This Saturday, November 26th family and friends are invited to experience the Magic of Christmas with FREE entertainment from 4pm. Stage Event in Enniscorthy’s Market Square with Enniscorthy Superstars Stage Academy headed up by Sharon Clancy & Suzanne O’Leary Santa Claus with friends Rudey the Elf, Jack Frost and guests from “A Quest before Christmas”. Expect lots of fun and games including a crowd game of Pass the Parcel.
In New Ross, ‘New Ross Nollaig’ is un full swing until December 24th. Enjoy FREE KIDDIES MOVIES ….Wexford County Council in association with St. Michael’s Theatre will be putting on two FREE Christmas movies for the kids of New Ross! Throughout Dec check out the SANTA WONDERLAND EXPERIENCE The Santa Wonderland Experience returns to the Dunbrody Famine Ship Experience from 3rd December to 23rd December. Meet Santa, Mrs Claus and their elves and some special guests. On Sunday 4th Dec see the FREE SANTA CRUISE & DISCO 4pm on the River Barrow Rosbercon Village Group along with the New Ross Boat Club are bringing Santa down the River Barrow. Santa will meet and greet with kids at New Ross Boat Club. There will be kiddies disco, Christmas carol singing, face painting and lots more!
In Gorey, the town’s lights will be officially switched on in the afternoon on November 26th with stage performances and entertainment from 7pm to 9pm and the ninth annual Gorey Christmas Market will take place on Main Street on Sunday, November 27th from 12 -4pm.
