The annual The Eileen Aroon Festival also takes place this weekend in Bunclody and runs until Aug 1 this outdoor festival features street entertainment, tug of war a carnival and a Mr and Mrs Competition!
An all day Arts festival will take place in the Bullring on July 31 On offer is a Fun filled day including FREE on-street entertainment. This unique event is about friends and fun, combined with world class non-stop entertainment in the charming market place in the Bullring. A diverse programme of music, theatre, dance, markets, exhibitions, workshops, activities for children and the Cáca Milis Cabaret.
The Sunset Festival in Gorey also takes place on July 31 featuring Ham Sandwich, Donna Marie Sludds, Bipolar Empire and much more.
Today the screen icon Maureen O’Hara is being inducted into the Irish American Hall of Fame at The Dunbrody Experience in New Ross, the newly opened museum is filled with famine and Irish American stories and honourees including former US President Bill Clinton, Ambassador Jean Kennedy-Smith, a force for progress in the peace process Bill Flynn, Michael Flatley, DNA inventor Dr. James Watson, Philanthropist Chuck Feeney, Medical Doctor and Humanitarian Dr. Kevin Cahill, Wall Street titan Denis Kelleher, bestselling author Mary Higgins-Clark and former CEO of Coca Cola and philanthropist Donald Keough
